New Zealand's Top Exports

Small in size but big of heart, New Zealand knows how to make an impact globally.

We’ve decided to take a look at some amazing things from New Zealand that the world has fallen in love with. There’s far too many for us to write about all of them, so we’ve had to be a bit ruthless and cut it down to a small number. Here are a few of, what we believe to be, New Zealand’s greatest exports!

The All Blacks

This one is a no-brainer. With winning records against every single international team they’ve ever played, The All Blacks are, by far, our greatest and most successful sports team ever. New Zealand continues to churn out world class rugby players year after year and it has brought immense success to our international team. Rugby fans the world over know and fear the boys in black and they draw massive crowds wherever they play. Players like Colin Meads, Jonah Lomu, Richie McCaw and Dan Carter are considered some of the greatest sportsmen of all time and, having spent 85% of the time at the top of the rankings(introduced in 2003), the team is one of the most dominant in the history of sports.

The Lord of the Rings movies

Winning 17 academy awards and grossing nearly 3 billion dollars worldwide, The Lord of the Rings trilogy was nothing short of a global phenomenon. Directed by Peter Jackson and filmed entirely in New Zealand, the films showcased the country’s stunning landscapes as well as the kindness and hospitable nature of the population, as told by the films’ extensive cast. People from around the world still, to this day, visit the country just to get a glimpse of the Middle Earth that was portrayed in the films. The films are universally loved and praised by fans and critics, with many people making it an annual tradition to watch all three.

Lorde

Having been around for over 5 years now, it’s hard to believe Lorde is still only 22. In those 5 years, she has gone from strength to strength, having come out of the gates flying with her mega-hit ‘Royals’ from her massively popular album ‘Pure Heroine’. The album sold 4 million copies worldwide and placed her right up amongst pop music’s elite. Finding so much success at such a young age would be overwhelming for most of us, but Lorde got straight into touring and working on her next album. ‘Melodrama’ was released in 2017 to critical acclaim and let the world know Lorde was here to stay.

Manuka Honey

Last, but certainly not least, is the delicious Manuka Honey. The Manuka tree only tends to blossom for 2-6 weeks a year in relatively remote parts of the country and, thus, it is a very finite resource. Because of this, it has become extremely sought after the world over. It is believed to have extensive health benefits, with many people using it as an alternative to sugar as a sweetener. It is rich in vitamins and minerals and has a deliciously unique taste and texture. Unfortunately, due to the high demand, some companies around the world have turned to some shady practices to sell more, such as blending it with other kinds of honey or adding chemicals. Thankfully there are companies out there, like PURITI, who strive to make the best and purest Manuka Honey they possibly can. PURITI  put their Manuka Honey through stringent testing to ensure it is as pure and delicious as it can possibly be and they don’t put in any unnecessary additives or chemicals. It has received high praise from all of us here at Rite Price Rentals and we can’t recommend it enough. Click here to find out more about this amazing and natural resource that is exclusively native to New Zealand.
