Balloons Over Waikato is one of New Zealand’s largest free events, happening from 21st-25th March 2018, in Hamilton, New Zealand!

There are some wonderful events coming up in New Zealand over the coming months. One not to be missed is the amazing Balloons Over Waikato. The Balloons over Waikato Trust is a non-profit organisation which has run this incredible event for the last 18 years.
The festival will see over 130,000 spectators over the 5 days. Everyone will get to thoroughly enjoy the incredible site of balloons floating through the Waikato sunrise at 7.30am every morning and Hamilton's biggest night out at the Zuru Nightglow, which is where the balloons glow and move to orchestrated music and finished off with the most amazing fireworks display!
The Festival is an iconic event for the general public in both Hamilton and the wider Waikato Region. Since having been voted six times as the Best Waikato Event by the public of Hamilton, this event is one not to be missed!
The Event will run for five days in late March 21st-25th, at Innes Common, Hamilton Lake and The University of Waikato grounds.
Balloons over Waikato attracts balloonists from all over New Zealand as well as around the world, who come to join in and experience the fun, friendship and warmth this balloon friendly city provides and to show off their incredible skills in a range of competitive activities.
Most Hamiltonians will have experienced the beautiful spectacle of a hot air balloon floating over their home, workplace, or school at some point over the last 18 years. The Festival can only be best described as being an event with the “WOW” factor!
