  1. Auckland Domain Winter Gardens are a beautiful historic treasure located in the heart of Auckland. You’ll be able to discover rare and gorgeous flowers and plants which are enclosed between two large glasshouses. One is heated which caters to lush tropical species and the other houses plant’s that suit the changing seasons. It’s a beautiful spot that you’ll want to visit more than once!

  1. Auckland Botanic Gardens are located in Manurewa, South Auckland. With over 20 gardens to admire and explore, you’ll easily be able to spend a day wandering around this stunning spot. They even run regular workshops and drop-in sessions where the garden staff can give expert advice and tips to their visitors. Make sure to check out their event calendar for any upcoming sessions!

  1. Hire bicycles and ride around to Mission bay! In recent months there has been a fantastic new shared bike system called OnzO. All you need to do is, download their app, top up $10, find your nearest bicycle using their GPS tracker on the app, scan the bike to unlock then ride to your destination. Once you’re at your desired location, the bikes will lock and you can leave them there for someone else to use, or come back later to ride them back to where you came from. Using OnzO to ride around the bay to Mission Bay and St Heliers is amazing! Enjoy the fresh sea breeze and the stunning view. Once you reach Mission Bay, get yourself a gelato or ice cream and chill out on the beach.

  1. The Sky tower, the tallest building in Auckland with incredible 360 degree views. A fun activity for all ages and it’s open 365 days a year! Once you’ve checked out the views, head down to SKYCITY which has a great selection of eateries.
